Hello, Tarides employees!
What’s a union branch (“section syndicale”)?
In France, a union branch is a group of people that are members of the same union — in our case, Solidaires informatique, part of the Solidaires union — and who exercise their right to exchange about any aspect of their working conditions (including, but not limited to: management, processes…). Concretely, a union branch can publish communications that everyone working at Tarides can read, through a physical notice board in the office and an online page.
Our wish is to offer Tarides’ employees a place where they can safely exchange about their experiences, ideas and feelings, to break a feeling of isolation many of us may encounter. We hope such a space will facilitate raising collective concerns and presenting them to the company’s leadership in a structured way. We believe that companies where unions help bridging the gap are in better health.
Are you a second CSE (“comité social et économique”)?
No! Sometimes there is an overlap between unionized employees and elected CSE representatives, but, while the mandate of the CSE is to officially represent our interests, we as a union branch merely exercise a form of freedom of speech, in our own name. We believe that the two roles can complement each other.
And concretely?
Concretely, we may:
- send questions to leadership
- relay concerns of our members or concerns people share with us
- get information about legal or work-related questions thanks to the national union’s help network
- and possibly organise other actions!

To keep any unduly pressures from interfering with our jobs due to our union-related activity, for now, we choose not to disclose any of our members. If you want to talk to us about any matter, write to:
